  • Warrel Dane RIP

I woke up to some very sad texts early this morning. I got the news that Warrel Dane passed away. Not only did I get the chance to produce a record for him, we became friends. I first heard his voice on April 16th, 1988 when Sanctuary opened for Megadeth on the “So Far So Good So What” tour. I immediately went to the record store the next day and bought Sanctuary “Refuge Denied” and was instantly hooked on the band! I wore that cassette out! I followed him throughout his career all the way to today. He really came into his own during the Nevermore years and continued to raise the bar. He had and always will have one of the most distinct, original, and unique voices in metal and is bar none one of the best metal singers ever and is in my top 10! His lyrical content was second to none and completely unique! He was one of a kind and I still can’t believe that he is no longer with us! He was kind and caring and never wanted to disappoint anyone and stayed out of conflict. He had a very unique mind and I am fucking HONORED to have worked with this man!!!! It's guys like him that keep me going in the hard and crazy world of rock and roll. He had some demons but never gave up! Rest in peace Warrel!!!! We will all miss you terribly as a person and voice!

  • FORGOTTEN TOMB Finish New Album, "We Owe You Nothing"

Forgotten Tomb have finished their new album, "We Owe You Nothing." Recording sessions started in December 2016 with drums being tracked at Big pine creek Recording Studio in Italy, but were abruptly interrupted when singer/guitarist Ferdinando "HM" M. was involved in a life-threatening car accident that left him unable to play for months. Recording-sessions were resumed and completed in May 2017 at SPVN Studio in Italy, while mix and mastering were done in June 2017 at Planet-Z studio (Hadley, Massachussets, USA) by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (Rob Zombie, Six Feet Under, Crowbar, Soulfly, Hatebreed, etc.). The album is due in fall 2017 on Agonia Records. In the words of the band, "The new album is another step into our constant evolution. Our trademark sound is still there but this record is heavier than anything we've done before. It's a varied one and it includes some new solutions that might catch some people off guard. It's a pissed-off record but also extremely gloomy".
